Rafael A. Vargas, Special Counsel

Rafael A. Vargas joined the law firm in 2007.  He practices primarily in the area of civil rights, focusing on equity in education for Illinois’ children.  Mr. Vargas also has experience in litigating individual and class action consumer protection and securities cases representing plaintiffs, such as investors, employees, small business owners, and consumers, in complex class actions and other cases involving fraud, antitrust and consumers’ rights.

Before law school, Mr. Vargas advocated for workers’ rights, organizing workers and contributing to various campaigns and initiatives aimed at empowering immigrant day laborers in Illinois.  Mr. Vargas currently serves as a High Jump Auxiliary Board member since 2005.  He also presently serves as a member of the Board of Advisors for the Archdiocese of Chicago and on the Board of Directors of the Lambda Theta Phi Foundation.
